  • Stages of construction of a strip foundation according to SNIP

    This device consists of concrete, which undergoes reinforcement and is then poured into the formwork, thereby forming a monolithic complex. There are various types of construction of a strip base, but we will consider the most optimal and simple process diagram.

    Drafting

    At this stage, all necessary quantities are calculated, namely:

    • Depth;
    • Width;
    • Material selection;
    • Establishing the level of soil freezing;
    • Other soil parameters.

    The device must run along the entire perimeter of the building, so this data plays a huge role in construction work.

    Important! If the building has a shape other than a square, then installing the tape will be more difficult.

    Performing markup

    After completing the project, it is necessary to place marks for the future foundation. This is done in this way: the pegs are placed around the perimeter and tied with a cord around the outer and inner space. When you are erecting a building on soft ground, the trench should be a little wider. This is necessary for using formwork when performing work. It is also necessary to provide a 10 cm cushion, which is covered with sand.

    Excavation

    At this stage, the trench is completed. The depth should be identical to the size of the foundation, but have a margin of 30 cm for the pillow. To perform this task, it is better to use a stretched rope so as not to get lost from the markings. When digging, take into account the characteristics of the soil. For example, for hard soils it is better to make vertical walls for ditches.

    Important! If your site has loose soils, then the dimensions of the trench should be larger than specified in the project/

    Installation of formwork

    The formwork is erected outside the base of the house, that is, the width of the boards must correspond to the design value. The installation process is quite simple and is performed in much the same way as with wooden panels. Upon completion of its construction, it is necessary to fill the bottom of the canal with river sand and compact it thoroughly. This is called a pillow. If you add crushed stone and fill it with concrete, we form the base of the building.

    Reinforcement

    The next step is to perform reinforcement. For this, rods with a diameter of 12 cm and wire will be useful, which will hold the structure together. Vertical reinforcement parts should have a distance of 10 cm from the foundation and be connected with wire in all directions. At the end of the work, we will receive a belt that will perform the reinforcement.

    Pouring concrete with mortar

    When pouring simultaneously in all areas, it is necessary to use several machines to mix the solution and mix the poured concrete with a crowbar to avoid the formation of empty spaces.

    If all work is carried out gradually, then the concrete will lie evenly. To make the solution, one mixer is also suitable, which will cope with its tasks for an average building. We recommend filling in a circle shape - this allows the base to rise gradually. The last step is leveling. The technology of this process is identical to the screed.

    It is best to fill the foundation in a circle so that the entire perimeter rises gradually. At the final stage, the concrete is leveled in the same way as a screed to ensure more convenient laying of the first row of brick or other material. It is worth noting that all norms and requirements for calculations and construction are specified in the Construction Regulations. So study the documents and only then feel free to start doing the work.

  • Scope and main characteristics

    The main document regulating the production, acceptance and use of FL foundation cushions is GOST 13580-85 (hereinafter referred to as GOST). When designing a building, it is necessary to take into account some restrictions on the use of elements. These restrictions are discussed in the regulatory document:

    • design temperature of outside air is less than -40°C (value is taken according to SP 131.13330.2012);
    • the calculated seismicity of the construction area is more than 9 points;
    • underground water or soil contains chemicals that can destroy concrete.

    Important! The use of pillows at estimated negative temperatures below 40°C is permissible, but only if additional measures are taken to protect them.

    FL pillows manufactured according to GOST have a trapezoidal cross-section. The upper, narrower part is intended to support the foundation walls (for example, made of FBS blocks). When installing blocks on a foundation slab, it is recommended to ensure that the vertical seams are tied. The minimum displacement of elements relative to each other is 250 mm.

    When purchasing products from a factory, it is worth checking their compliance with the requirements. These requirements are given in GOST:

    1. concrete class of slabs FL is not lower than B10, maximum - B25;
    2. reinforcing mesh is made of steel of classes A400 (A III) and BpI;
    3. the product has mounting loops, which are located in accordance with GOST;
    4. deviations from the dimensions indicated in the assortment do not exceed 5-10 mm;
    5. When shipped from the factory, the concrete managed to gain at least 70% of its brand strength.

    It is also worth considering the load-bearing capacity of the products. The exact value should be checked with the manufacturer. It is important that the pressure from all house structures does not exceed the design pressure.

  • ACCEPTANCE RULES

    3.1. Foundations must be accepted by the technical control of the manufacturer.

    3.2. The results of acceptance inspection and testing must be recorded in the quality control department or factory laboratory log.

    3.3. Acceptance of foundations must be carried out in batches. The batch size is established in the amount of 200 foundations of the same standard size, manufactured by the enterprise using the same technology from materials of the same type and quality within no more than one day.

    It is allowed to determine the volume of a batch by agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer, as well as to supply products selected from different batches.

    3.4. The batch of foundations presented for acceptance is subjected to a control check by the quality control department, while for control checking the dimensions of the foundations and the quality of their working surfaces, control samples are taken in the amount of 5% of the batch, but not less than two foundations, to assess the strength and crack resistance of the foundations, the location of the reinforcement and the thickness of the protective layer of concrete is two foundations from the batch.

    3.5. If, when checking the selected samples, there is at least one foundation that does not meet the requirements of this standard, a double number of foundations from the same batch should be selected and re-tested.

    If, upon re-inspection, there is at least one foundation that does not meet the requirements of this standard, then this batch of foundations must be accepted piece by piece.

    3.6. The frost resistance and water resistance of concrete should be determined at least once every six months during serial production of foundations, as well as when mastering production, changing technology and the type of materials used.

    3.7. The consumer has the right to carry out selective or piece-by-piece acceptance inspection of foundations at the manufacturer, while observing the acceptance rules established by this standard.
